Call for Applications Research Fellow in Trinitarian Ontologies

The Dean of the Sts Cyril and Methodius Faculty of Theology, Palacký University in Olomouc, announces a call for applications for the Research Fellow job position in the Department of Philosophy and Patrology.

The Research Fellow will work closely with members of the Department of Philosophy and Patrology and the research group of the project "Trinitarian Ontologies: A New Philosophical Investigation into Trinitarian Relationality" (Triertium). He will participate in all research activities of the Triertium research group (research seminars, conferences, scientific and cultural projects, online courses), conduct systematic or historical research in relational or Trinitarian ontology (in relation to patrology, comeniology, theological aesthetics, metaphysics, philosophical ethics or philosophy of religion), both independently and as part of the research group, publish in high-quality international scientific journals or publishing houses in accordance with the submitted individual research plan (separate part of the application), and initiate and participate in the preparation of other research projects, as well as in the creation of a network of international research cooperation in contemporary Christian thought.

  • an exciting opportunity to collaborate in an interdisciplinary research group active in the international philosophical and theological community,
  • a full-time or part-time research position,
  • one-year contract with the possibility of extension for up to two more years,
  • a full-time salary of 45,000 - 63,000 CZK per month gross (approx. EUR 1,800 - 2,500) depending on the candidate's experience,
  • professionally stimulating working environment in the historical centre of Olomouc,
  • professional administrative and academic support.
  • completed Ph.D. studies in the humanities or social sciences (or submitted dissertation before a Ph.D. defense); philosophy and theology are preferred,
  • publication track record and research activity in systematic theology, philosophical theology or philosophy of religion,
  • experience of managing own workload and working in a research team,
  • personal and professional prerequisites for independent scientific research, publishing and qualification growth,
  • excellent knowledge of English and, in the case of foreign applicants, a willingness to learn Czech at least at a basic level of communication.
  • Foreign applicants must have resided in the Czech Republic for the entire duration of the employment relationship and have no other employment relationship outside the Czech Republic, or have completed the A1 form for concurrent employment prior

  • structured curriculum vitae and a list of publications and scientific activities in the field,
  • scan of diploma,
  • individual research proposal describing the applicant's research to date, its relation to research in relational or Trinitarian ontology, and planned book or journal publications in the next three years (in Czech, English or German, max. 5 pages).
