The French Institute in Prague, Charles University and the Gallica Association have announced the national round of the "Ma these en 180 secondes" competition. Doctoral students speak about their research work in front of a non-expert audience and learn to explain a complex topic in simple words. The competition is open to all disciplines, from mathematics and literature to biology and architecture. Applications for the Czech selection are open until 26 February 2025.

All French-speaking PhD students enrolled at a Czech university in the current academic year (2024/25) or those who received their PhD after August 2024 are eligible to apply. In a maximum three-minute presentation, they will present their dissertation in French using one slide and try to convince the jury and the public.

The national round of the competition will take place at Charles University on Wednesday 26 March 2025. The best candidates of the Czech selection will be able to participate in the Central European final, which will take place on 13 June in Warsaw.

The application form and further details of the competition can be found on the French Institute's website. Fo more detail. For questions, please contact Hamani Latif, Latifa.Hamani@ifp.cz.
