Iranian Professor Speaks on Religiously Motivated Extremism at the Faculty of Theology
Urgent questions of religiously motivated violence and extremism will be presented by a guest from Iran. The Institute for Intercultural, Interreligious and Ecumenical Research and Dialogue at Sts Cyril and Methodius Faculty of Theology organises a lecture of the Iranian professor. It is an opportunity to have an insight into the contemporary issue from the perspective of the non-European academic tradition.
Professor Shahriar Shojaeipour from Al-Mostafa International University in Qom in Iran will deliver a lecture on "Creating and Deepening Religious Extremism and Takfirism in some Middle-east Countries". The lecture takes place in the room U 11/4 at Sts Cyril and Methodius Faculty of Theology, Univerzitní street 22, Olomouc. The lecture starts at 2:00 PM on Tuesday 5th of December. The presentation will be followed by a discussion. Beside his mother tongue the lecturer speaks also Arabic, French and English.
